“Any book that helps a child to form a habit of reading, to make reading one of his deep and continuing needs, is good for him.”
Summer reading is coming! We received and unpacked our giveaway books today. (at Free Borders (Lawrence Public Library))
Anonymous said:I learned what my brother calls "silent parkour" by the age of six because my mom would take away my entire collection of books and keep them in her bedroom when I was in trouble. So at around midnight I would wake up and slide down the stair rail. Then I would sneak through her door and climb to the top of the pile of 50ish books and take the book I wanted, which was always at the top. Then I'd go back at 2 and put it back on top. She never found out. I do practice parkour now!
Sounds like the work of a real book nerd. Acrobatics for books: highest form of athletic activity I can think of involving reading. Bravo!
Snack & Study tonight from 4 to 9 at the library! Use our homemade chalkboard to solve your math problems or practice your art #OLPL
